Aloha Crew Kitchen is a Hawaiian kitchen in Chantilly, Virginia, run by a crew of Hawaiʻi locals who cook the plate lunches and local-style comfort food we grew up eating.
From catering across the DMV to a kitchen window in Chantilly
Aloha Crew Kitchen started with catering. For years we cooked for offices, birthdays, graduations, private parties and big gatherings around Washington, D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia, sharing the food we grew up with one event at a time. We still cater today, and those events are how a lot of the DMV met us first.
Our crew is made up of Hawaiʻi locals originally from Maui, Kauaʻi and Oʻahu who now call the DMV home. The food on our menu is the food we actually eat: kalua pig slow-roasted with Hawaiian sea salt, kalbi short ribs, teriyaki chicken, Spam musubi, Hawaiian mac salad and Calrose rice, plus local-style specials that rotate through the weekend.
Our first kitchen, inside Ono Brewing Company
Our first brick-and-mortar kitchen is a pop-up inside Ono Brewing Company in Chantilly, Virginia. It is a partnership between two separate businesses: Ono brews the beer, we cook the Hawaiian food. Guests order at the Aloha Crew window or online, then sit anywhere in the taproom to eat. Beer and alcoholic beverages are sold by Ono Brewing Company, not by Aloha Crew Kitchen.
That setup is why there is no traditional dining room and no table service. It is also why you can pair a plate lunch with a fresh local pour without leaving your seat.
What we cook
We serve Hawaiian plate lunches and local-style comfort food. Plate lunches are built the way we grew up eating them: a protein with Calrose rice and Hawaiian mac salad.
